Chicos Soldado

  Un “niño soldado” es toda persona menor de 18 años de edad que forma parte de cualquier fuerza armada regular o irregular en la capacidad que sea, lo que comprende, entre otros, cocineros, porteadores, mensajeros o cualquiera que acompañe a dichos grupos, salvo los familiares. La definición incluye a las niñas reclutadas con fines sexuales y para matrimonios forzados. Por consiguiente, no se refiere sólo a un niño o niña que lleva o ha llevado armas, sino también a los que prestan servicios de otro tipo para los grupos armados, aunque no participen directamente en el combate. En un mundo donde millones de niños “juegan a la guerra” con pistolas de juguete o a través de vídeo juegos, otros muchos niños y niñas se ven abocados a vivir la guerra de verdad, convirtiéndose en combatientes desde edades muy tempranas. Para ellos la guerra no es divertida ni les hace sentirse más fuertes. Los soldado son menores privados de su derechos más básicos que demasiadas veces son vistos como culpables.Cada día hay niños y niñas que ven su futuro truncado porque pierden su infancia para convertirse en soldados. Al igual que otros menores afectados por conflictos en todo el mundo, son víctimas inocentes de las atrocidades de la guerra. Sin embargo, para ellos el regreso a su vida y la recuperación de su infancia es tan difícil que puede parecer casi imposible. Many people don’t know what a Chinese Fair is because they weren’t present in one, of course. New students in the New Horizons School are wondering what would be like. To tell you the truth, a Chinese Fair is amazing! You get to now many things from China: their culture, language and costumes. The next is an interview to a Chinese student. 1) How do you feel about the Chinese’s new year?Why? I feel great about the Chinese new year, because my parents are Chinese and also I’m doing this for my family that I have. 2) How does Chinese stereotypes affect you?Why? It doesn’t affect me since I don’t really care who are them because I will just cared about my family and friends. 3) How special does the Chinese’s new year is for you? It is special for me because it celebrates a year where all the people are happy. 4) What are some traditions you follow in this celebration? I decorated my house with Chinese decorations, and we have a New Year’s Eve Dinner. 5) What things make Chinese’s New Year special? New Horizons – Friendship Cup

New Horizons Bulldogs, after suffering many changes such as: staff people, team player, roster adjustments, and a new coach. It has been some barrier that these home team had to face up. But instead, it has produced a new beginning for them, full of new opportunities and achievements. Coach Wilkin Reyes has told us that it is an honor to coach this team, full of great players and a great team chemistry between them and him. The coach’s new techniques have caused major improvements on defense, and offense, bringing players to give all they can to reach “The promise land ”of basketball. Some weeks before the basketball team started the 13th annual Friendship Cup, they host and the defending champs of this tournament. Recent information tells us that the bulldogs have a 1-1 record on the tournament, facing the quarter-finals against Saint Thomas School this Tuesday 3rd of February at 4:00pm, and if they win today, not only will they be at second place on the tournament standings, but also they would be playing the semi-finals and the finals in case they win.
